Teesside University was awarded full university status in 1992 and is situated in Middlesbrough in the north- east of England. 20,000 full and prt- time students are presently enrolled, and it was the first ultramodern university to win a Times Higher Education Award. Since 1992, it has won nine National Teaching Fellowships for excellence in teaching quality.
Teesside University was awarded The Queen’s Anniversary Prize in 2013 for outstanding work in the field of enterprise and business engagement. The University is strong in the areas of forensic science, sport and exercise, computer games design and animation. numerous of these are accredited by professional bodies. Teesside University supports graduates in chancing employment for at least two years after they leave, and numerous courses include paid work placements as part of the degree.

In REF 2021, Teesside University significantly increased the volume of staff and research submitted compared to the 2014 REF, whilst maintaining or enhancing scores across the three main criteria – output, impact, and environment.
Teesside University also increased the proportion of research classed as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ – with almost two thirds of research falling into those three- and four-star categories. The proportion of four star ‘world-leading’ work almost doubled compared to the 2014 submission.
Accommodation
Teesside University
Teesside University guarantees a place in university accommodation to all transnational students. There's also accommodation available for postgraduate and mature students and Teesside has some of the most affordable university accommodation in the UK, including on- campus halls of residence and off- campus managed houses. There are a little over 1,100 rooms available, with en suite and standard options, generally arranged in groups of 4- 11 per participated kitchen.

Teesside University is in Middlesbrough, north Yorkshire. Multimillion pound investments in the town centre and campus have created an instigative environment that’s perfect for today’s students, and the recent expansion of nearby universities has led to an increase in student-friendly bars and restaurants. The town boasts multitudinous artistic attractions, including the Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art chief among them.
Durham Tees Valley Airport (20 km away) and Newcastle International Airport (lower than 80 km away) have flight connections to London and Amsterdam, and as the gateway to two English regions, Northumbria and North Yorkshire, Middlesbrough is girdled by stirring countryside and littoral scenery.

Commonwealth PhD Scholarships
This scholarship is offered to candidates from the least developed and fragile Commonwealth countries who wish to study a PhD in the UK.
Commonwealth Split-site (PhD) Scholarships (for low- and middle-income country candidates)
This scholarship is offered to candidates from low- and middle-income Commonwealth countries who wish to spend up to 12 months at a UK university as part of their doctoral studies in their home country.
Commonwealth (PhD) Scholarships (for high income countries)
These scholarships are funded by the UK Department for Education in conjunction with UK universities to support world class research and to contribute to UK higher education and research to help sustain international recognition of the UK higher education system and for the benefit of wider society.
Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships
This scholarship is offered to candidates from low- and middle-income Commonwealth countries, to undertake full-time taught Master’s study at a UK university.
